“I don’t know how you do it.”

Welcome to my blog! My name is Suzanne, and the goal of this blog is to be able to share my thoughts and emotions around being a mom of two (one girl and one boy) while working a full-time job in addition to offering support and parenting ideas to other moms (and dads too).

So why start a blog? In doing a self-inventory, I discovered many reasons. First of all, I want to practice what I preach. As a therapist, I encourage many different types of techniques for increasing self-awareness, practicing self-care, and managing emotions. One such coping strategy I might advise is journaling, which can more or less be blogging. Through blogging, I can share my journey on how to “do it all” while staying sane (or at least portraying sanity). Through blogging, I gain insight and motivation so I will be much better able to use my counseling skills on myself.

Often, the SAHM’s (stay-at-home-moms) or part-time employed moms will say, “I don’t know how you do it.” Well, neither do I. Working-mom guilt, exhaustion (both emotional and physical), and trying to keep up with all of the societal and cultural expectations of being a mommy, a wife, and a woman has got me constantly questioning what I am doing. I want to provide support to others who feel this way, because many of us live in a world where we  have to work. More importantly, I want to work. My job isn’t just something to keep me busy and pay the bills. It’s a calling, something I feel I was meant to do in life. I’m naturally gifted when it comes to counseling and find it personally rewarding. I love, love, love being a mom, but I cannot imagine a life where mommy and wife is my only job. This blog documents how I do this.

Furthermore, I am confident that I have the skills, wisdom, and creativity  write a successful blog.  I’ve got all kinds of ideas, and I’m inspired to share them with world.

Thank you for reading and I hope this blog will provide you with words that inform, provide support, help heal, and entertain you.

Thanks Cassie! I hope you find it helpful. Raising three girls is it’s own unique journey in itself, especially without daily support.

I have a hard time using acronyms because I hate when I cannot figure out what they stand for. Thanks.

Let me know your sentiments.
